How It Works?
To apply for the virtual prepaid card, simply visit Astropay.com and sign up for free. It can even be done using Facebook, which speeds up the process even more. Once you become a member, just choose the value of the card and pay in local currency by online bank transfer, cash deposit or with your debit or credit card. The methods depend on the country of residence, including Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia, China, Indonesia and Japan.
Once the transaction is processed, you’ll get an email with the virtual card. This includes the 16 digit, security code and expiry date – the same info you need to provide when making payments using regular bank card.
AstroPay Card can only be used where this payment method is accepted. At checkout, simply choose the payment method, fill in the necessary fields with the information in your email and the transactions will be processed immediately.
Although the prepaid card can’t be reloaded, multiple cards can be merged together. Users also don’t need to use all of the funds on the card, but can make as many payments as they wish. Note that the cards are valid for 12 months.
All AstroPay Card payments come with no extra fees. From what it seems like, merchants aren’t allowed to charge customers any extra either, although it’s recommended that you verify that at the checkout. That said, both daily and monthly limits may be imposed in certain countries as well.
Unlike paysafecard, AstroPay Card is currently accepted only at a handful of online gaming sites, which is one of its biggest limitations. For help, AstroPay can be reached by email.
