Having just won the Mobile Product award at the International Gaming Awards 2017, Microgaming has also announced three upcoming slots: Jurassic World, The Phantom of the Opera, and Castle Builder II. As you can read more about the first one in the earlier post, let’s see what the other two have to give based on the official report.
Microgaming Teases The Phantom of the Opera Slot at ICE 2017
Thanks to a deal with The Really Useful Group, which Microgaming doesn’t seem to have previous encounters, the upcoming The Phantom of the Opera slot will be based on the 2004 movie directed by Joel Schumacher. The picture itself is inspired by a French novel written by Gaston Leroux in the early 20th century, and the musical, which opened at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London which celebrates its 31st year.
What will be in this new mystical yet romantic slot is still a surprise, other than it will feature the main characters, musical numbers and original footage from the film. Based on the studio’s past branded releases, players might see a multi-choice Free Spins bonus, coupled with Wild features, or something more unique.
According to David Reynolds, Games Publisher at Microgaming: “The Phantom of the Opera has had unequivocal success, played to over 140 million people worldwide! It’s exciting to be working with a musical, a new genre of branded content for Microgaming, extending and broadening our portfolio of games. Due out in Q3, this game will be a true celebration of the world’s biggest opera, balancing a healthy mix of base game features with a feature-packed free spins round.”
Castle Builder II Slot by Rabcat Being Released This Year
Speaking of unique slots, in partnership with Rabcat, the company has decided to update the Game of the Year 2013 shortlisted Castle Builder slot by making it bigger and better. As some may remember, it’s unlike ordinary games because of its trademarked level-based-slot feature, based on achievements and job ladder.
In Castle Builder II, players will also be able to choose from 3 player avatars, each with a different storyline and unique set of features. There will be a total of 15 kingdoms, 75 castles and over 300 characters. As you play and collect building material, you gain XP and unlock achievements, face cup challenges and obtain payout related awards, complete levels, unlock new part of the map, meet new people and help beautiful princesses find Mr. Right. All in all, there’s so much to it that it might as well be one of the best games for the year.
Here’s what Thomas Schleischitz, CEO and Founder of Rabcat had to say: “We have had great success with Castle Builder, launching the game to over 80 operators worldwide. The second instalment provides extended gameplay and high replay value by way of more kingdoms, more levels, and more achievements. By embracing the concept of unlocking content and continuous progression, the game encourages players to come back for more.”
