Having been nominated for five awards at the 8th edition of the Women in Gaming awards (WIGs), one of the leading iGaming developers, Play’n GO released their new cascading slot called Viking Runecraft, at a Viking-themed evening at The Brew in Sliema, Malta on the 27th April.

Viking Runecraft Slot Features

Unlike traditional slots with 3 or 5 reels, this release has a 7×7 grid like in the studio’s ever popular GEMiX slot. The 9 symbols pay only for 5 of a kind, when touching either horizontally and/or vertically, and the most you can win per symbol is 100x over your total bet. What’s more, after each win the winning symbols disappear and create a free re-spin. Hence its other name – reactor slot.

To make it just as intriguing as its 5×5-grid slot counterpart Cloud Quest, the developer added a good handful of bonuses, some of which depend on your win progress. Some of such bonuses are the four random features: Thro, Odin, Freya and Heimdall. The one that you get depends on the level you’re at, which you can clear with patterns, as indicated behind the symbols.

The Viking Runecraft slot has two more bonuses, one of which is activated by Rune Stones. Collect at least one of the five stones and clear the current pattern to trigger the Runes of Valhalla wheel of fortune bonus.

Finally, if you manage to successfully win on 20 symbols, by filling the Charge of Destruction bar on the left from the reels, you’ll get a boost in the form of one of four additional Norse Gods bonuses. For 20 or more additional winning symbols, you’ll also trigger the Ragnarök bonus with free spins and multipliers.

That said, here’s what Johan Törnqvist, CEO of Play’n GO, has to say about this new game release: “Viking Runecraft is market-leading in its playability, and we are excited to showcase it to the industry at the hotly-anticipated launch in Sliema.”

He added: “We continue to offer the latest in gaming technology with our first ever 7×7 grid slot and this addition will cement our position as one of the most creative and innovative gaming suppliers in the industry.”

You can find Viking Runecraft already at most Play’n GO powered online casinos, playable on desktop and mobile.
