Fresh off winning the 2016 International Gaming Award for “iGaming Software Supplier of the Year,” Yggdrasil Gaming has announced its intention to secure a B2B iGaming license from the Gibraltar Licensing Authority. If and when the process has been approved and completed, which should be shortly, the company will hold key licenses in Gibraltar and with the UK Gambling Commission. This allows the company to provides its services and products to British operators.
Yggdrasil Gaming’s Gibraltar License Application
In a press release related to the new Gibraltar license, Yggdrasil CEO Fredrik Elmqvist stated: “We were over the moon to be invited to apply for a Gibraltar license. It’s an exclusive jurisdiction, with a number of the major operators based there, and we believe it will be a fantastic new hunting ground for us. We’ve pretty much covered all the player liquidity available from the operators in Malta, so now is the time for us to be targeting Gibraltar where we will be building up our presence.”
He then added, “We’ll be putting some people on the ground in Gibraltar and are actively recruiting. We strongly believe we can hit the ground running as we have carved out a niche for ourselves that is different from other suppliers.”
