Even in a game as simple as Deuces Wild Video Poker, it pays to stick to a plan of action, or strategy.
Always hold any hand that is a natural win such as a straight, flush or better. Don't try for a better hand just because there are wilds in the deck. Deuces Wild can be a big paying game if and when played correctly. As in Jacks or Better Video Poker, look for a Full Pay game or machine. This greatly increases your odds and reduces the house edge.
To determine if a Deuces Wild Video Poker game is 9/5 Full Pay, have a look at their payout table on the screen. Look closely at these payout tables. The following demonstrates a 9/5 Full Pay machine. You'll find that some games payout much less with 9/4 or worse. This greatly changes the percentages in favor of the house.
Look at the payout for the Straight Flush and for the Four-of-a-Kind. It' 9 coins for the Straight Flush and 5 coins for the Four-of-a-Kind. This is how you tell a machine is a 9/5 Full Pay Machine. There are variations of Deuces Wild Video Poker worth mentioning as well. These games offer more chances of winning by including extra hand rankings and bigger payouts for getting the Four Deuces. These variations are Loose Deuces and Bonus Deuces Wild.
Loose Deuces - This game is called Loose Deuces because of the higher payout for getting Four Deuces. The normal payout in a game of Deuces Wild for getting Four Deuces is 1000 coins, in Loose Deuces you get 2500 coins instead.
Bonus Deuces Wild - In Bonus Deuces Wild you have the opportunity to win some huge amounts by getting certain Five-of-a-Kind hands and when you get Four Deuces with the Ace as a kicker. For example, Five Aces will pay out 400 coins on a maximum bet, Five 3, 4 or 5's will pay out 200 coins on a maximum bet and Five 6 through K's will pay out 100 coins on a maximum bet. Get Four Deuces with any Ace and win 1250 on a maximum bet.
