GTS - Gaming Technology Solutions
GTS is located in Ipswich, England, where they have maintained offices since the company's inception in 2005. The company was formed by a group of people who had been working within the gaming industry to provide gaming software for land-based casinos since the mid-1990s.
After spending four years developing its software platform, the company was acquired by Playtech in December of 2009. For Playtech, the attraction was the ability of the software to be easily integrated with other such platforms.
Sensing this would be the primary focus of the iGaming industry on a go forward basis, Playtech made the move as a means of diversifying, which has proven to be beneficial to both organizations. The website does not make any mention of licensing or security, but it would be a good bet that both of those things are in place for a company with this kind of reputation.
By name, GTS' software platform in known as the Enhanced Gaming Engine (EdGE) open gaming platform. The platform has been developed using the latest in software development technology.
Currently, EdGE is available in both download mode – with downloaded software that is compatible with Mac and PC operating systems – and instant play or Flash mode. However, there is no information provided regarding the prospects of redesigning the software in the future for use in the mobile gaming arena.
Essentially, the EdGE software platform is an open end platform that allows for integration of games from a nice variety of other prominent software providers like Leander Games, IGT, and Rabcat. The software's management module provides site managers with the tools needed to track player results, to manage the banking module, and to develop and track bonus programs.
By reaching out to as many as a dozen or so external game developers, the GTS software platform allows casino owners and operators the opportunity to pick from a library of 300+ games. As an interesting side note, Playtech games are not available on this platform.
However, the games that are available include popular gaming categories such as video slots, video poker and a nice selection of table games. That includes baccarat, sic bo, pai gow, roulette and blackjack. Some of the video slots offered that experienced players might recognize are Superman, Snakes and Ladders, Cops and Robbers, Monopoly Mega Jackpots, Casper’s Mystery Mirror and King Arthur. You can give them all a try for free at one of the featured online casinos.
Gaming Technology Solutions or GTS is a Playtech subsidiary. It’s Enhanced Gaming Engine (EdGE) platform boasts with hundreds of games powered by 3rd party iGaming developers like NextGen Gaming, Leadner Games and IGT.
