People who play less than the five coins are just setting up the payout for those players who are looking to win the bonus for the Royal Flush. Playing the maximum amount of coins will almost always payoff better for you in the end, because you are eligible for the high payout. If you do not feel comfortable playing the highest amount of coins, it would benefit you better to find a machine that doesn’t require it to win. However if you are comfortable with a high bet, pick the machine that you want and play at max, it is imperative for you to know the payout ratios for whatever game to pick.

Playing Tens or Better Video Poker can be one of the most exciting and profitable experiences you will ever have if you take the time to study the game, and the pay tables and make and informed decision on which one to play and which ones to stay away from. Tens or Better means that you have to have a pair of tens or higher to win anything at all, which really opens up the possibilities for winning great amounts of money. This game is very easy to play but sometimes hard to master. Whether you are just playing for fun or to win some money this is the game for you.

Knowing the game that you are on will help you play the game smarter, and smarter is always better. Knowing pay schedules is the first step in being able to play smarter. In a group of games, all of which can look alike, there will often be several mixed in that poor pay schedules. The reason for this is because casinos know that not all players look at the payouts, they figure that since they are all in the same area that they are all the same. Don’t make this mistake, check out each game and find which one has the best pay schedule. You want to find a game that pays 9/6, which means that it pays nine to one on a Royal Flush and six to one on a Full House. Some games can have payouts as bad as 6/5 which will in the end have you losing more money. Now I know that not everyone out there knows what this means so here is a basic breakdown of the theory above. A player that is on a game that is 9/6 will be winning than a player on a lower paying machine. If the player on the 9/6 game is going for the royal flush they will hit it approximately every 40,000, a player on a lower paying machine will hit that same hand only approximately every 70,000 hands, which would you prefer?

When you are playing Tens or Better Video Poker you should find a strategy that you agree with and stick to it, don’t bounce back and forth from one to another it will just get confusing and will probably end up costing you. We have compiled a great strategy that has worked for many people. You are originally dealt five cards, you can chose how many cards you want to replace, but the cards can only be replaced one time. First of all keep any hand that already pays out, with a few possible exceptions. They are:

Hold any four cards that could possible make a Royal Flush

Hold three cards towards a Royal Flush

Hold any four card flushes in hopes for the fifth

Hold any two suited high cards, this could end up with that Royal Flush, if they are unsuited discard them

If you happen to get four unsuited high cards keep any three suited; get rid of the unsuited- other wise keep all of them

Hold any single high card

Hold any two unsuited high cards

To play Tens or Better Video Poker you first have to pick the value of the coins that you want to bet, you do this on a Video Poker game by using the - or + sign to lower or raise the set bet. Next you move on to how many of those coins that you want to bet, you can hit Bet One or Bet Max, each time you click Bet One the bet goes up until you reach the max. If you hit Bet Max your bet automatically increases to the highest bet and the cards are dealt without hitting the deal button. Next, after you have been dealt your original five cards you can hit the Hold button or the card itself to hold the cards that you don’t want to replace, click on the deal button to have those cards discarded and replaced, if you don’t win the game is over and you start this process all over again. If you do win there are also some choices that you have concerning your winnings. You can either accept the winnings by pressing collect or you can use the option to double your winnings. If you choose to double, the dealer draws a card, and you are given 4 more cards facing downwards so you can’t see them. You are then asked to choose one of those cards, if you pick one that is lower than the dealers card you loose your original winnings. If you have a card that is equal to the dealers then you have a tie, and if you beat the dealer’s card then you win twice your original winnings. You also have the option to Half Double, which means that you can choose to double half of what you won, you are not allowed, however, to use the Double option if your win exceeds $2000. To calculate the amount you will win for a winning combination you must multiply your bet by the number shown in the payout table in the first column. When you bet two coins the amount doubles, three it triples, four it quadruples and so on.

You should also become familiar with the buttons in the screen that you are playing in. The following are some of the general buttons that you will run into while playing Tens or Better. Bet Max- to bet all five coins and deal the cards automatically. Bet One- to bet one to five coins. Deal- to deal your original cards and to replace discarded ones. Help- opens the help file, so that you can find the answers to your questions. Options- opens he options dialog box. Lobby- this button lets you exit the game and return to the lobby, but remember you can not exit in the middle of a game round. Knowing all of these different buttons and their functions can help you and possibly prevent you from making a mistake in the future.

If you happen to be disconnected from the internet in the middle of playing Tens or Better Video Poker, you can re connect and log back into the casino, you will be automatically directed to the game that was interrupted so you can continue to play your favorite game. If you follow the basic strategy that has been laid out above for you in the end you should fare better than you would if you were just going into it blind. Please remember to always gamble responsibly and have a great time doing it, because the safer and smarter you are the better you play.
