NETS, as a payment solutions company, was founded in 1985 by a consortium of Singapore banks, such as DBS, JCB, POSB, OCBC, UOB, Maybank, Standard Chartered and HSBC. It’s a member of the Asian Payment Network (APN) and a council member of UnionPay International. Over the years, the company has grown to be a leader in its field, making S$23 billion worth of transactions in 2015 alone.
That said, eNETS is the company’s online payment gateway, which accepts a wide array of currencies and most local banks. It was founded back in 2001 and is a great alternative to NETS customers who like to shop or pay for their bills online. More on that in the quick overview below. How It Works?
NETS issues three types of bank cards: plastic CashCards, virtual vCashCards, and the contactless FlashPay. They come as Visa, MasterCard, American Express and UnionPay credit and debit cards.
In addition to the 95,000 and more payment terminals located over the country, NETS users are free to make online payments wherever they are. Once selected from the banking options, customers need to know their banking ID and PIN, as usual. As such, they need to have one of the credit or debit cards mentioned earlier, from Citibank, DBS/POSB, OCBC, Standard Chartered Bank or UOB.
Using eNETS should be easy and secure. It’s compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), ensuring privacy and safety throughout the payment process. For additional peace of mind and an extra layer of protection, they are also certified for 3D Secure, which usually applies to payments made using Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
Generally, all eNETS transactions are free of charge and may offer a discount on goods or services when using with selected partners. However, as far as iGaming is concerned, then the internet banking method usually comes at a small cost. Hence, make sure you double-check that with each gaming site beforehand.
If you experience any difficulties, then they encourage you to get in touch with their customer service hotline at their 24-hour phone that’s available from the contact us page.
eNETS is an online payment method that’s part of the Singapore-based parent company NETS, which unifies banks like Citibank, DBS/POSB, OCBC, Standard Chartered Bank and UOB. Only customers with a valid credit or debit card can use eNETS’ online banking services.
