How It Works?
Yandex.Money can be used to pay for home utilities, as well as purchases of products and services to various merchants. You can also transfer money to your friends or relatives. All you need to know is their account or phone number, or their Yandex.Money address. Payments can be made between Yandex.Money e-wallets, from an e-wallet to a card and vice versa, and between bank cards, using this service as an intermediary.
You can link up to five cards, granted that they are issued by one of the following countries: Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, or Uzbekistan. And since Yandex.Money can also be used without an account, bank cards that aren’t linked to the e-wallet can be used as well.
Various security checks and systems are in place to keep payments and Yandex.Money users safe and secure. For instance, before you can make a money transfer from your e-wallet to a bank card, you have to verify your passport details, which is required by law. Users are also allowed to use security codes or PIN numbers, with which the recipient can accept the money, for added security.
For payments, you can use credits on you Yandex.Money account, bank cards or cash, via authorized service providers.
There’s a commission that varies depending on the payment method. For instance, transfers to credit or debit cards cost 3% and 45 roubles, whereas ATM withdrawals will cost you 3% and 15 roubles, with a daily and monthly limit of 5,000 and 40,000 roubles, respectively. Verified users have higher limits. For a more detailed overview, see the official site. There are no fees for deposits though.
The sign-up process is free and takes a matter of moments and requires a phone number, which is used to send you passwords to confirm payments. Once registered, members can also apply for Yandex.Money plastic cards, which allow making payments at online and land-based stores, and withdraw cash from ATMs.
There are hundreds of merchants and partners that do business with Yandex.Money. This includes many Russian and Eastern European online casinos, as well as brands like Western Union, Nintendo, Ali Express, Megafon, MTS, Alfabank, Sberbank, PSB, Webmoney, QIWI and others. As a reward for loyalty, with a few of these and other companies Yandex.Money users get various discounts and bonuses.
Yandex.Money is a payment solution from Russia’s biggest search engine. It can be used as an e-wallet and intermediary for both merchants and consumers to make and accept payments from users with or without a Yandex.Money account.
