Evolution Gaming, a leading and publicly traded Live Casino developer, has signed a major deal with the Netherlands’ largest gaming operator, Nederlandse Loterij. It’s a company behind the Dutch Lottery that was formed in April 2016, through the merger of de Nederlandse Loterij and De Lotto.

Nederlandse Loterij manages local games of chance brands like Staatsloterij©, Lotto©, Toto©, Eurojackpot©, Miljoenenspel©, Lucky Day© and Krasloten©. Unlike the independent operators, this state-owned operator aims to contribute to a happier and healthier society. It’s an active contributor to 18 charities in the areas of health and movement, with the remaining revenue donated to the Dutch national treasury.

Earlier in April, the Dutch national lottery signed a long-term partnership with NYX Gaming Group, to provide them with their Open Platform System (OPS) and Open Gaming System (OGS), for better player management and quality proprietary and third-party games.

On why they’ve chosen to go with Evolution Gaming this time, commented Bas van de Bunt, director Online & Business development: “We wanted to work with a market-leading provider with a proven track record of delivering first-to-market advantage in re-regulated jurisdictions. Evolution has achieved this a number of times for major licensees in new markets across Europe”.

Third Major Deal for Evolution Gaming

For Evolution Gaming, this is a third major deal for the past couple of months, after the content partnership agreements signed with mybet Casino and Codere earlier in March 2017. The agreement is that much more important for high local regulations in the Netherlands. Having won the Head of Risk/Fraud award category at the Gambling Compliance Global Regulatory Awards 2017, and announced strong earnings for the quarter, the company continues a steady high growth. How or when the new agreement will be materialized for Dutch online players is unknown just yet.

That in mind, here’s what Evolution Group CEO Martin Carlesund commented: “We are delighted to be working with the largest gaming operator in the Netherlands with huge reach across the country — and an organization committed to contributing to a happy and healthy Dutch society. We are confident that we will further enhance the wide range of games on offer for safe and responsible play. Signing a client of this caliber is yet another major accomplishment for Evolution but also for the iGaming industry as such.”
