Innovator of the Year 2017, Yggdrasil Gaming, has expanded its geographical reach by partnering with GVC Holdings’ Italian-facing gaming brands, including bwin.it and Gioco Digitale sites. It’s the first time their award-winning HTML5 games go live in one of Europe’s most impressively performing jurisdictions.
The process of certifying Yggdrasil Gaming games and platform in compliance with Italian technical requirements began in January 2017. According to the initial plan, only 11 of their slots will be included in the first batch of games that will go live at bwin.it early in the second quarter of 2017.
Noteworthy Slots by Yggdrasil Gaming
This includes the 10-line Dark Joker Rizes, with the company’s distinctive Jokerizer Mode, the bonus-packed 25-line Vikings Go Wild, Nirvana, with three free spin modes, as well as Holmes and the Stolen Stones. Other noteworthy slots that may launch alongside include the football-themed Bicicletas and Seasons, which came out in March 2016. Will the newly-announced Beauty & The Beast slot find its way to the Italian casinos too is unknown as of yet.
The games are all powered by the developer’s iSENSE 2.0 HTML5 framework, meaning they’re available on desktop and mobile, including several in-game promotional tools like BOOST™, Missions and BRAG. It’s these types of new releases and innovations that has turned them into the Slot Provider of the Year at the 2016 EGR B2B Awards.
As Fredrik Elmqvist, CEO at Yggdrasil Gaming, added in the official report: “We have grown our footprint across Europe this past year. This is the latest in a long line of big deals, and shows the progress we are making and just how desirable our games and in-game promotional tools have become.”
Currently, the games developer has licenses across Europe – in Gibraltar, the United Kingdom, Romania and Malta – and hopes to meet more operators at ENADA Primavera in Rimini in the coming days, to expand their Italian online presence even more.
As far as bwin and Gioco Digitale are concerned, then this is an attractive new addition to their current games from studios like NetEnt, Evolution and IGT. Or as Liron Snir, Chief Product Officer at GVC Holdings puts it: “Yggdrasil titles have taken the market by storm and it is a great step for us to be able integrate this first-rate content into our Italian offer. What’s more, their in-game promotional tools are genuinely innovative, particularly the BRAG feature which was a real draw for us.”
